How to clean group head

    Step 1:

    • Remove the portafilters from the group heads.

    • Brush the group heads with cleaning brush to get rid of the used coffee particles that are stuck in the group head.

  • Cleaning brewing basket - PBI

    Step 2:

    • Replace the portafilter’s brewing baskets with blind baskets.

    • Dose a half teaspoon of espresso machine cleaning powder (such as Puly) to the blind baskets.

    • Insert the portafilter´s to the group heads.

  • Group head step 3 cleaning

    Step 3:

    • Run the water from group head for 10 seconds.

    • Wait 3 seconds and put the water run again.

    • Continue doing this for 3 times (3 x 10sec with 3sec pauses).

    • Remove the portafilters from the group heads and flush the cleaning powder away with water.

  • Cleaning

    Step 4:

    • Brush the group heads again just make sure that there is no coffee particles left.

    • Insert the rinsed portafilters to the group heads again.

    • Repeat the 5 x 5 sec. procedure.

    • Remove the portafilters from the group heads and run some water from the group heads.

  • Cleaning portafilters
    How to clean portafilters

    Put the portafilters and baskets in a metal bowl. Dose one tablespoon of the espresso machine cleaning powder (Puly Cleaning powder) into the bowl. Fill the bowl with hot water so that all the metal parts of the portafilters are under water. Don’t sink the portafilters’ plastic handles under water. Let them simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Take the portafilters and baskets out of the water and wash them with hot water and a brush. Put the baskets back to the portafilters.

    • Brush and rinse it well.

    • Clean the wand with a cloth.

    • Simmer three parts; shower screen, metal plate and the screw in hot water and cleaning powder for 10-15 minutes.

    • Brush the parts after simmering and place back to group head.

    • Remove beans to separate container for cleaning.
