Reasons to choose seasonal food

It’s tastier

Seasonal fruits and vegetables are tastier because they’re harvested at their peak. They get to develop and ripen at their own pace, which brings maximum flavour. Local produce also means less transports and lower carbon footprint.

It’s cheaper

Seasonal fruits and vegetables are cheaper due to the principles of supply and demand. When they're in season, there's a lot of them, which leads to lower prices. Since they’re grown locally, transportation costs are cut too.

It’s healthier

Seasonal fruits and vegetables are healthier because they’re picked when they contain the most nutrients. As they grow in optimal conditions they’re also less reliant on chemical treatments such as pesticides.

Cabbage is always in season

We believe cabbage is a truly underrated crop. It’s tasty, healthy, versatile and it comes in a great variety of colours, textures and flavours. Since there’s always some kind of cabbage in season, you can get it cheap and with low climate impact, which leaves a nice aftertaste.
