Umami Burger

Umami Burger

A vegetarian burger with crispy parmesan chips and fried mushrooms that makes your mouth water.

Ingredients

Parmesan chips
  • 50 g parmesan, shredded

Burger
  • {1,5} kg mouldable vegetarian mince

  • 5 tbsp Santa Maria Umami spice blend

  • 5 tbsp Santa Maria Tellicherry Black Pepper

  • 75 g butter

Condiments
  • 250 g shiitake mushroom

  • 10 burger buns

  • 125 ml tomato sauce

  • 250 g romaine lettuce

  • 5 tomatoes

  • {2,5} red onions

  • 5 tbsp mayonnaise

How to prepare

  1. Set the oven to 230°C. Divide the shredded parmesan into ten piles on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Then bake the cheese piles in the oven for about 5 minutes, until they melt and turn into golden brown chips. Let them cool off on the baking paper.

  2. Season the mince with Umami spice blend and Tellicherry Black Pepper. Mix it briefly with your hands.

  3. Shape the mince into ten patties. Fry them in butter at medium heat.

  4. Cut the mushrooms and fry them until golden.

  5. Serve the burgers with tomato sauce, red onion, mayo, lettuce, parmesan chips, tomatoes and fried mushrooms.
