Crunchy 100% plant burger

A crispy bun holds everything it takes to make a true BBQ burger. But there is no meat.


Number of portions
  • 10 hamburger buns, preferably brioche

  • 100 ml oil, rapeseed

  • 700 g Gold&Green® Pulled Oats®

  • 35 ml Santa Maria Pulled Pork Spice Mix

  • 300 ml Santa Maria BBQ sauce

  • Pickled onions

  • 1 crispy salad

  • 300 ml Santa Maria Guacamole

  • 1 bag Santa Maria Nacho Chips

  • 1 jar Santa Maria Jalapeños Green

Pickled red onion
  • 50 ml vinegar

  • 100 ml sugar

  • 150 ml water

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 red onions, sliced

  • 1 tsp Santa Maria Pink Pepper

How to prepare

Pickled red onion
  1. Heat up vinegar, water and sugar in a pan. Just let it start boiling to make the sugar dissolve.

  2. Put the sliced onions in a bowl and pour the mix over them.

  3. Add some pink pepper and let it cool off.

  4. Put in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

Pulled Oats®
  1. Start preheating a pan with oil.

  2. Fry the Pulled Oats® until it gets a nice crispy texture.

  3. Then add the spice mix and make sure it is evenly spread on the Pulled Oats®.

  4. Add BBQ Sauce and let it all get warm together.

All together
  1. Prepare all the veggies.

  2. Toast the burger buns to get a nice finish.

  3. Then build the burger with salad, tomatoes, Pulled Oats®, pickled onion, guacamole, nachos and jalapenos.


Serve the burger with sweet potato fries and sriracha mayo or nachos and salsa.
